“The way we talk about climate change will make a difference to how others act.”
Lord Deben, former Chair of Climate Change Committee, APPG Net Zero Busting Report 2023
What does a 5,000 ton, or 10% reduction in carbon emission really mean? Likewise reported improvements in equal pay, inclusion, or the provision of living wages within a value chain?
Without a meaningful context, such expressions of progress, or a vague reference to “not being on track”, fail to explain what has been achieved, what needs to be done, and at what speed?
Only by re-framing sustainability conversations, creating greater clarity of purpose and urgency, can we successfully protect environments, their natural species, and create more inclusive societies and economies.
"Saving the planet is now a communication challenge."
Sir David Attenborough

“The games have changed. Deeds, rather than words, count.”
Sustainable Development Goals Impact Report, December 2022

We hope to stimulate behavioural change by framing progress as when our current behaviours, if continued, will deliver.
“We urgently need every business, investor, city, state, and region to walk the talk on their net zero promises. We cannot afford slow movers, fake movers, or any form of greenwashing.”
António Guterres, UN Secretary General, December 2022
